Avoiding Junk Food to Enjoy Life!

It has always confused me how people who struggle to lose weight won't stop eating junk food. One thing in particular that I've noticed, is most of the people who have told me they were trying to lose weight, usually have their cupboards stuffed with junk food instead of all-natural foods.
Why is this the case? Usually they're just not willing to give up their favorite foods because it lets them, "enjoy life" a little, when what they should be thinking about is eating to enjoy a longer life.
Eating junk food doesn't have anything to do with enjoying your life. When you stop eating so much junk food then you really enjoy life because you have more energy and feel better on a regular basis. Not only will you get in better shape by dropping the junk food, but you will also feel better about your looks which will lead to more confidence and even more enjoyment.
A lot of people don't realize that you don't have to eat boring and tasteless food to eat healthy. Once you learn to enjoy more natural foods and all the types available, you realize you enjoy them more than overly processed junk with too much salt and sugar.
I'm a firm believer that everyone should enjoy what they eat. However, you can accomplish that without all the unhealthy, processed food. Some people are shocked to learn there are healthy alternatives for most of the junk they eat.
Some examples of those are:
Unhealthy junk: Deep fried chicken strips and French fries on the side
Healthy substitute: Grilled chicken strips with steamed veggies on the side
Unhealthy junk: fast food style cheeseburger on a heavily processed bun
Healthy substitute: Grass-fed hamburger, which is higher in omega 3 fats, and grass-fed cheese on a grain roll.
Unhealthy junk: a chocolate donut or a chocolate candy bar
Healthy substitute: A few pieces of extra-dark chocolate which has more fiber and a ton less sugar than regular milk chocolate.
See how you can eat healthy foods, but still get lots of flavor?
If you only get one thing from this article, it should be that eating healthy doesn't have to mean eating nasty, bland foods. You can eat healthy and still "enjoy life" as some like to say. You should take the time to discover the flavors nature intended, and avoid as much processed food as you can!
